A vacancy has arisen for a Material Planner. The incumbent will be reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager. Some of the key responsibilities in the job will be as follows:

• Promote the operating principles of safety and health, environmental stewardship, planning of raw material and finished goods requirements based on forecast expectations, place orders for raw material and finished goods based on the planned and safety stock requirements, liaising with outsourced warehouse to ensure smooth processes for receipts and stock management, check prices and ensure incoming invoices match transfer pricing, ensure all relevant documentation are received from new suppliers and liaise with finance on the creation of new vendors on the SAP system.

Skill, Knowledge and Experience Requirements:

• ND or Degree in Purchasing or Logistics Management, CPIM or similar.
• Intermediate level of MS Excel. SAP experience is an advantage.
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in an operation and/or planning environment.
• Understanding forecast and MRP processes.
• Experience in an automotive planning environment is an advantage.

Production and Quality Entomologist Sundays River Valley

The ideal candidate will lead the biological quality team in ensuring the highest standards of insect-related product quality across all production lines. This role requires expertise in entomology, quality assurance, and leadership skills to supervise a team and collaborate effectively with the product development and project department in setting up new production lines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Mentor and develop the biological quality and research team and provide guidance and support to ensure efficient and effective performance.
• Develop training material and work instructions to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members.
• Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes and procedures for insect-related products.
• Analyse data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Apply knowledge of entomology to maintain insect cultures, assess various factors that would impact the product quality, and develop strategies to control and  prevent associated risks.
• Stay updated on the latest research and developments in entomology to inform decision-making and improve product quality.
• Work closely with the product development and project department to provide expert input on the design and setup of new production lines as well as upscaling those lines for commercial use.
• Perform any related trials that are required to improve new and existing production lines.
• Maintain detailed records of quality assurance activities, including inspection reports, test results, and corrective actions taken.
• Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key quality metrics, trends, and areas for improvement.
• Develop quality assessment protocols for various strategically important biological control agents and insect pests.
• Identify key quality control areas within the rearing and production processes.

Education & Training

• Master’s Degree in Entomology/ Zoology or a related scientific field, 2 or more years of experience. Preference will be given if the candidate has some experience in the fields of microbiology and quality.

Must have a valid driver’s licence and be an advanced MS office suite user. Willing to work after hours and on weekends when necessary.

A vacancy has arisen for a Production Manager in the operations team. The incumbent will be reporting directly to the Business Operations Manager.

Key duties as follows, but not limited to, the following:

• Monthly Production batch and equipment scheduling.
• Develop, communicate, and ensure production KPI`s are met and captured monthly, with investigations for targets not met.
• Ensure weekly and monthly schedule adherence is completed monthly, with the relevant comments, track performance and implement improvements.
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems (e.g. non-conformances)
• Improve quality and reduce occurrences of reject batches.
• Monitor capacity and report under and over issues to management.
• Ensure packaging issuing and daily stock management process.
• Manage the raw material ordering and staging process for the plant.
• Manage raw material sampling for testing of new stock and recertification, plus printing labels for stock on-site and off-site warehouse.
• Manage the utilization of the Warehouse Controller between the warehouse, production, and production administration, as and when required.
• Manage Team development and performance and ensure cross-training takes place.
• Identify and develop succession plan for direct and indirect reports.
• Manage cost centre budget expenses monthly.
• Improve Production dwell times through continuous improvement projects.
• Perform yearly contingency testing.
• Ensure that health and safety regulations are adhered to in functional areas of control and support SHEQ initiatives and objectives.
• Monitor and review monthly maintenance objectives and targets, Planned Maintenance Schedule, Critical Spares List.
• Ensure monthly and annual Plant services are completed timeously and control costs.

Educational Qualifications:

• ND Operations Management/Advanced Diploma or equivalent.
• 5 – 10 years’ experience production management within the automotive industry.
• Valid drivers’ licence.
• High intermediate level of computer literacy (ERP & Excel essential)

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Quality Assurance. 5 years relevant Quality Assurance experience in the automotive component manufacturing industry is essential.
