The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting audits across multiple industries and functions within the organization, identifying areas for improvement, and providing recommendations to management. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of auditing principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities:

– Plan and execute internal audits across multiple industries and functions, including risk assessments, control evaluations, and process improvements.

– Identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations to management.

A vacancy has arisen for a Material Planner. The incumbent will be reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager. Some of the key responsibilities in the job will be as follows:

  • Promote the operating principles of safety and health, environmental stewardship, planning of raw material and finished goods requirements based on forecast expectations, place orders for raw material and finished goods based on the planned and safety stock requirements, liaising with outsourced warehouse to ensure smooth processes for receipts and stock management, check prices and ensure incoming invoices match transfer pricing, ensure all relevant documentation are received from new suppliers and liaise with finance on the creation of new vendors on the SAP system.

This role requires expertise in entomology, quality assurance, and leadership skills to supervise a team and collaborate effectively with the product development and project department in setting up new production lines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and develop the biological quality and research team and provide guidance and support to ensure efficient and effective performance.
  • Develop training material and work instructions to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes and procedures for insect-related products.
  • Analyse data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Apply knowledge of entomology to maintain insect cultures, assess various factors that would impact the product quality, and develop strategies to control and  prevent associated risks.
  • Stay updated on the latest research and developments in entomology to inform decision-making and improve product quality.
  • Work closely with the product development and project department to provide expert input on the design and setup of new production lines as well as upscaling those lines for commercial use.
  • Perform any related trials that are required to improve new and existing production lines.
  • Maintain detailed records of quality assurance activities, including inspection reports, test results, and corrective actions taken.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key quality metrics, trends, and areas for improvement.
  • Develop quality assessment protocols for various strategically important biological control agents and insect pests.
  • Identify key quality control areas within the rearing and production processes.

Education & Training

  • Master’s Degree in Entomology/ Zoology or a related scientific field, 2 or more years of experience. Preference will be given if the candidate has some experience in the fields of microbiology and quality.

Must have a valid driver’s licence and be an advanced MS office suite user. Willing to work after hours and on weekends when necessary.
